NOTE: Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (LICs) often offer electives specific to their program. Reach out to your academic advisor for questions on which courses are covered by the LIC.
Students may schedule up to 16 elective credits in one specialty. If a student is considering taking more than 16 elective credits in one specialty, they will need to seek permission from the Assistant Dean of Curriculum.
Away rotation credits count towards this limit.
Required clerkships do not count towards this limit.
If a student takes acting internship credits above the 4 credit requirement, those additional credits may be counted towards the hands-on elective credit requirement.
TBD
Students are not allowed to earn academic credit and be paid a salary specifically based on the work required for the electives, except in the Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP).
