The Major Profiles site is a comprehensive list of all the majors, minors, and certificates available at the U.
Each major profile includes information on degree requirements, potential careers, and a link to the major's homepage. Additionally, you will find information about getting into the major.

Consider adding a Minor and/or Certificate
Look up your proposed major in the Undergraduate Catalog Database to see a list of course requirements.
Every college at the U of M has created sample course plans for each of its majors. These plans are one way to plan out your degree and major by semester and year. Your advisor can help you interpret these plans and help you arrange them in a way that makes sense for you.

Each college within the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities has different admissions criteria and application processes, such as:
Prerequisites (pre-admission courses)
Minimum GPA scores
Supplemental essays or questions.

To see what scores are needed on AP and/or IB exams to get credit, click below:
If you have transfer courses that have not yet been added to your UMN academic record, you can look them up in the Transferology Database to see how they will transfer and if they will count for UMN requirements.
First, you'll need to create an account using your UMN email address. Once you are logged in, you can click on
Will My Courses Transfer? which provides a course search to determine how your completed or in-progress coursework will transfer to another institution.

To get credit for AP and IB awards, order your records through the College Board or contact your High School Counselor.
To get credits transferred from colleges outside of the UMN, order your Official Transcript from the college and have it sent directly to the Office of Admissions.
Official transcripts can be ordered electronically (fastest method) and should be sent to admissions@umn.edu
Unsure about your Math placement score and if you are going to take the “right” math class?
Contact the CLA Summer Math Advisor. This is a current instructor in the Math department that can give you more insight into Math courses and even do a few practice problems with you to ensure you are registering for the correct math course for you.
