Are you a Pre-Health student?

You are considered a Pre-Health Student if you are pursuing one or more f the following:

• Bachelor's degree to prepare for a professional health school

• Career in Healthcare

• Graduate program to be a clinician and/or researcher  

Here are some examples of these pathways to the healthcare field: 

• To prepare for a professional health schoool, including but not limited to:

• a) Medicine

• b) Dentistry

• c) Physician’s Assistant

• d) Pharmacy

• e) Physical Therapy

• f) Occupational Therapy

2. To prepare for a profession in healthcare that requires a bachelor’s degree, including but not limited to:

• a) Healthcare Administration

• b) Computer Science and Informatics

• c) Nutrition/Food Science

• d) Exercise Science/Physiology

• e) Medical Art and/or Film/Videomaking

• f) Environmental Health and Occupational Safety in Healthcare

3. To prepare for a graduate program that will position students as a researcher and/or clinician, including but not limited to:

• a) Clinical Psychology

• b) Social Work

• c) Public Health

• d) Medical Research

• e) Child Psychology

4. To prepare for a professional undergraduate degree that requires a competitive or secondary admission, including but not limited to:

• a) Nursing

• b) Dental Hygiene

• c) Mortuary Science

• d) Medical Laboratory Sciences

The Pre-Health Student Resource Center is a unique, specialized center that helps students explore health career options, build effective skills and prepare a well-rounded portfolio of experiences, and prepare for admission into health professional programs.

PHSRC offers a variety of services through information sessions, online workshops, credit-courses, special events, and fairs, designed to:

• Help students explore their interests in health professional degree programs and find the right fit in a future career 

• Teach the importance of developing a well-rounded application portfolio

• Identify ways to gain experience

• Develop skills in writing personal statements and interviewing for admission
