Academic Success Centers

Find information about peer tutoring, writing support, success skills coaching, research and more at success.umn.edu. While these resources are located in the Twin Cities, most offer virtual appointments in addition to their in-person services.


JustASK (Rochester)

JustASK is where you can go to ask questions, get suggestions, and discover solutions related to your academic success. Be sure to check the JustASK calendar to learn the schedule and location for each discipline.


Nursing Tutors

Some of your key NURS courses will have dedicated tutors. These doctoral students will be involved in your course and offer regular tutoring sessions. Check the syllabus to confirm which courses have a tutor assigned to them and find their contact information/hours.


Self-Guided Resources

There are interactive modules, how-to videos, and subject/course guides covering a range of success topics online. You can engage with these whenever and wherever!

Health Services

Boynton Health

Boynton can take care of most of your medical needs, including seeing a physician, dentist, or mental health counselor; having your eyes examined; getting a lab test or x-ray; and filling a prescription. Self-supported by student fees, third-party payments, and fees-for-service, Boynton has been serving the special needs of students for over 75 years.

UMR Student Health and Wellness Services

UMR Student Health Services is FREE to all students who have paid the UMR Student Services Fee (SSF) with valid UCard. Services on-site include, general health concerns, laboratory testing, psychological services, and/or referrals to other providers. Walk-in appoints and scheduled appoints are available.

Rochester
Region 4 Adult Mobile Crisis Team (701-364-0431) serves Douglas, Grant, Stevens, Pope, and Traverse Counties. Mobile mental health services are short-term, face-to-face (or virtual) services designed to restore a person's functioning level to pre-crisis levels. Response services offer opportunities to de-escalate a situation or problem and help people develop individualized strategies for their future concerns.


Twin Cities
Fairview Hospital's Behavioral Emergency Center (612-672-6600) provides emergency care, assessment and referrals for people of all ages in a behavioral crisis related to either mental health or substance abuse. Located on the Riverside campus of University of Minnesota Medical Center, check in through the Emergency Department.


Hennepin County Acute Psychiatric Services (612-873-3161) serves those in emotional crisis with 24-hour, seven-day-a-week crisis counseling, assessment, and referral.


Online Resources

Learn to Live is an online program based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address. Choose from the following programs: Social Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Substance Use, and Stress, Anxiety, and Worry.


You at UMN is a wellbeing portal for U of M students offering tools, content, and resources aligning with on-campus health and wellness programs and resources. The tool is divided into the following categories: Succeed, Thrive, and Matter.

Aurora Center

The Aurora Center offers free and confidential support to U of M victims, survivors, and concerned people of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. Learn more at aurora.umn.edu

Disability Resource Center (DRC)

Student Conflict Resolution Center (SCRC)
