The School of Nursing offers several ways to get involved, specific to Nursing and Health Profession students.
The Minnesota Nursing Student Board (MNSB) is the University of Minnesota's chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). MNSB serves undergraduate students in the Twin Cities and Rochester locations. Their goals are to:
Represent the undergraduate student body and serve as a link between the Twin Cities and Rochester locations, the School of Nursing, and the U of M
Organize professional, educational, and social events for the School of Nursing undergraduate student body
Promote and support student participation in the School of Nursing, related organizations, NSNA, and the U of M
Support the goals, objectives, and philosophies of BSN students
The international honor society of nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), has a chapter at the University of Minnesota. Installed in 1934, Zeta Chapter is one of the oldest chapters in the country. The honor society recognizes superior achievement and leadership qualities, fosters high professional standards, encourages creative work, and strengthens commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession. Zeta Chapter sponsors an annual research day, provides grants for research, presents annual awards for nursing excellence and leadership, and organizes programs of interest to its members.
Students who meet the STTI requirements are invited to join the organization in their last year of the curriculum. Learn more on the Sigma Theta Tau page of the School of Nursing's website.
All School of Nursing graduates are encouraged to become members of the Alumni Association of the School of Nursing. This alumni community:

Nurtures relationships among alumni to build and sustain a strong commitment to the School of Nursing
