AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool
Beginning April 30, accepted applicants will have two options to select: “Plan to Enroll” or “Commit to Enroll.”
Selecting “Commit to Enroll” indicates that the applicant has made a final selection and withdrawn all other applications.
• Starting April 30, the AMCAS tool will identify the applicants making either selection. This applicant-specific information will be visible only to schools where the applicant has a current acceptance or alternate-list position.
• If an applicant selects “Commit to Enroll” to a school, all other schools where the applicant also holds an acceptance or alternate-list offer will be notified but will not know the name of the school selected.
• Selecting “Commit to Enroll” does not automatically withdraw applications from other medical schools. Applicants must communicate directly with all schools about their final decision according to each school’s specific policy.
Important Dates & Events
Deadline to submit Commit To Enroll - Will be listed in your acceptance letter
Final Transcript Due - If you recently completed prerequisites and/or recently had the degree conferred. Submit official transcript through Parchment with all prerequisites completed by July 15.

Thank you for the warm welcome you have extended to me as I begin my roles as Interim Dean of the Medical School and Interim Executive Vice President for Health Affairs.
In these early weeks, I have focused on listening and learning across departments, campuses, and missions. What stands out most is the depth of commitment across this community. From the excitement of Match Day, to conversations with our partners at the Capitol, to the work unfolding every day in our labs, clinics, and classrooms, I see a shared sense of purpose that is both energizing and deeply meaningful.
As a land-grant institution, our responsibility is clear: to serve the people of Minnesota through education, discovery, and care. You bring that mission to life every day.
In the weeks ahead, I look forward to continuing these conversations during visits to our Duluth and St. Cloud campuses. These opportunities to connect directly are invaluable as we shape our path forward together.
As you read this edition of The Scope, I hope you see not only individual accomplishments, but the collective impact we are making—and the momentum we are building for the future.
Thank you for your partnership, your candor, and your continued dedication to this work.
With appreciation,
Carol Bradford, MD, MS, FACS
