Faculty/
Staff Comps

Who is eligible?

Faculty/Staff Comps are offered to current SMTD faculty and staff in any department. Part-Time Staff of University Productions, such as lobby attendants, work-study students, and temporary production staff are also eligible.

What performances are eligible?

  1. Eligible Performances:

    1. The ten productions produced by University Productions in the Power Center, Arthur Miller Theatre, and Mendelssohn Theatre.

    2. Any ticketed Studio Productions in the Arthur Miller Theatre.

    3. Most STMD-produced, ticketed concerts in Hill Auditorium: A Grand Night for Singing (when applicable), Band-O-Rama, and Halloween Concert.

    4. (as of 12/16/22) Collage Concert is now available for faculty/staff comps only.

    5. For the MT Senior Showcase process please see the Spring Musical and Senior Showcase page.

    6. As of the writing of this document, all performances of eligible productions are available for comp request. Exceptions to this should be expected, and not all performances may be available for purchase at any given time. This policy is subject to change, and may change at the discretion of the box office.

How do I request my tickets?

You process your own tickets online! See the full step-by-step process, below. You may select any seat labeled General Main Floor (Arthur Miller Theatre or general admission Hill Auditorium performances), B Main Floor (Power Center, Lydia Mendelssohn), Mezzanine, or Balcony.

Remember, this is the process for your standard fac/staff tickets only - if you are also involved in the production please refer to the Company Comps page.

How do I pick up my tickets?

Fac/staff comp tickets may be picked up at the Will-Call window at the theatre's box office on the night of the performance. Any comps left in Will-Call by 15 minutes prior to curtain may be released for sale.

Can someone else use my tickets?

We ask that you keep these complimentary tickets for your use only.

What if I can no longer use my tickets?

Email smtdtickets@umich.edu to release your tickets for resale. Tickets that go un-released and un-attended will be subject to lost privileges.

What if I'm a member of the creative team?

Do not process your fac/staff tickets online - your company comps typically have more access so use those instead. You will receive a company code through the production team. If you have not received the code, email smtd-reminders@umich.edu

I'm a new employee, how do I get started?

We need to flag you in the ticket system before you can redeem your fac/staff comps. Your supervisor should email smtd-reminders@umich.edu to confirm your position and start date. We will create your account and send you an activation email shortly afterwards.
