Welcome to Positive STEPS

Taking Positive STEPS Towards a Healthier You

In this six week program, you will learn a variety of skills that may help you live better with chronic pain. These skills will center around increasing positive emotions and experiences. You will learn by watching the videos on this website, using the workbook, and talking with your community health worker each week. The role of your community health worker is to go through the weekly topic with you, to provide support, and to help you create plans and set goals. You will also receive an activity tracker so that you can track your steps and work to increase how much you're walking over the course of the program. By choosing to join Positive STEPS, you have taken a few positive STEPS toward a healthier you. Welcome!

Felicia Lane

Felicia finds it a blessing to be a community health worker. She is able to empower others to be the best version of themselves. Her dream for the future is to see community health workers incorporated into more aspects of people’s lives and into the fabric of our communities. Felicia wants to see this work being done in schools, police departments, fire departments, clinics, hospitals, grocery stores, the court system, and more.

Linda Reyes

Linda Reyes was born and raised in Detroit. She has spent the majority of her life supporting the community through volunteering in cleanups, patrolling, and other projects throughout the city of Detroit. She was given the Spirit of Detroit Award for her service as the Hubbard Richard Citizens District Council Treasurer. Linda views her job as a way she can give back to others the tools that were given to her, and to connect people to community resources, outreach, and advocacy to help them become successful and self-sufficient so we can all work together to move the City of Detroit forward.
