About Me

My new website is here. I am now a postdoc at ICMAT in Madrid.

I am currently a Post-Doctoral Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at University of Michigan Ann Arbor working with Lydia Bieri and Sijue Wu. In 2017-2018, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Instituto de Matemáticas Universidad de Sevilla (IMUS) in Sevilla, Spain working with Francisco Gancedo.

I completed my PhD in mathematics at University of Pennsylvania under Robert M. Strain in 2017. My thesis was entitled "Rigorous Results in Fluid and Kinetic Models" and was awarded The Carlitz-Zippin Prize, given to one finishing PhD student each year. My undergraduate education was in mathematics at University of Chicago.

Research

My research is in the analysis of partial differential equations. In particular, I have worked on fluid interface problems (SQG patches and Muskat interfaces) and kinetic theory of plasmas (Vlasov-Maxwell system). Moving forward, I am also interested in learning about topics in general relativity.

Teaching

My primary goal in teaching is to empower students to be self-sufficient learners and to foster interest in mathematics for students of all backgrounds. In Spring 2020, I was nominated for the Golden Apple Award at University of Michigan. Previously, I was awarded the Moez Alimohamed Graduate Student Award for Distinguished Teaching in Mathematics (2014-2015), given to one graduate student annually, and two Good Teaching Awards (Fall 2013 and Spring 2014) during my time as a graduate student at UPenn.
