Mirrors
If we could live forever, how do I keep you afloat?
Rewrite a life where you don't hate what I've wrote?
I look to the sky and see the balloon you let go.
Like a forgotten child,
quietly losing all hope.
To the winds of life you forgo,
concealing your feelings just to cope.
I know,
when you feel that low.
You ask yourself,
where did you go?
You look in the mirror and see the shadow of a soul.
I’m sorry if I let go.
Dropped your hand,
to go dance on my own.
I didn't realize I left you all alone.
But twilight ceases to provide a time note.
I begin to watch the beat of your life fall out of rhyme, rhythm, and structure.
I dote.
I'll bear the storm to save the forest if it means I don't watch you suffer.
And I start to wonder,
where did all the time go?
