Intersecting Lines
Can I ask something?
Tell me,
what's the saddest love song?
I can’t pick just one.
I find our paths cross only once,
a defining point,
or so I thought.
But intersecting lines don’t always meet at the right angle,
time, or place.
I find, I wait.
A circle I become.
You show up and barely kiss the edge before moving on.
What's said is done.
But then I become enchanted,
like a romance song.
Yet,
how does one move on,
when our lives are parallel,
but never meant to become one.
