APPLICATION, REGISTRATION, AND FEE WAIVER EXPLANATION
Applications to CUWiP closed at 5:00pm ET on Monday, October 23, 2023.
You will receive an email from APS on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. If you are accepted to a CUWiP site, the email will contain instructions on how to register for that site by the deadline given in the email. You must register by the deadline contained in the email or your acceptance will be void and the CUWiP spot you were offered will be offered to a wait-listed student.
Registration requires a $45 fee, which helps offset the cost of the conferences. If your department is not covering the cost, and the $45 would cause financial hardship, you may request a fee waiver by following the procedure explained in your acceptance email. Please note, fee waiver requests must be made seven days in advance of the registration deadline.
CUWiP TRAVEL SUPPORT
We aim to make CUWiP accessible to everyone. All meals and accommodation during the conference are organized and the costs are met by CUWiP. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation on Friday or Saturday night. Travel to the conference is usually paid for by your home department. In cases where your own department, or other sources, can not cover the cost, there are funds available to provide support travel to CUWiP so no one has to miss out on CUWiP for financial reasons. In order to access those funds, please email um-cuwip-planning@umich.edu to request travel support before December 15, 2023.
Travel costs will typically be reimbursed after the conference. Before you book a plane ticket, or any other travel ticket costing more than $100, you must first email the cost and itinerary to um-cuwip-planning@umich.edu to receive advance permission prior to incurring the cost. Significant costs which are not pre-approved may not be reimbursed.
