Plane: The closest airport to Ann Arbor is the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) serviced by all of the major US and international airlines.  DTW is located 25 miles east of Ann Arbor on I-94 at Merriman Rd.  Rental cars are available at the airport, or when flying into Detroit or Lansing, it is possible to take the Michigan Flyer from the airport to campus.  Travel time from the airport to downtown Ann Arbor is approximately 45 minutes.  


Car: If you are traveling by car, Ann Arbor is about an hour west of Detroit on I-94, as well as 4.5 hours east of Chicago on I-94.  From Toledo, Ohio, Ann Arbor is located about an hour north on US-23, while Lansing, Michigan is located an hour north of Ann Arbor off of I-96E and US-23S.  More detailed directions can be found at the bottom of this page.


Train: Trains go through Ann Arbor many times daily en route to Detroit from Chicago and to Chicago from Detroit.  To inquire about schedules or make reservations, you can call 1-800-USA-RAIL or 872-7245 or you can book online.  The station is located at 325 Depot St., not far from Central Campus.


Bus: Finally, Greyhound services Ann Arbor from many locations throughout the United States.  The telephone number for Greyhound is 800-231-222 or you can book online.  The bus station is at 116 West Huron St. and is located approximately 1 mile from Central Campus.

MEALS AND ACCOMMODATIONS

All meals and accommodations are organized and covered by CUWiP. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation on Friday or Saturday night. Participants will be split between the Hyatt Place and the Hampton Inn hotels and will share a double room - there is an option to request a specific roommate when completing your registration with our CUWiP site, otherwise, roommates will be assigned by the organizing committee. Free breakfast and parking are offered to guests at the Hyatt Place and Hampton Inn, and transportation will be provided between these hotels and the CUWiP venue. Speakers/panelists or anyone who needs to stay closer to the venue will be lodged at the Bell Tower Hotel, which is a two-minute walk from the Michigan League

Meals are provided by the conference for Friday night through lunch on Sunday. We will request dietary restriction information on the registration form. If you believe your dietary needs are unusual, please contact us at um-cuwip-planning@umich.edu and we will work to accommodate you.
