Interviews

Phillis Engelbert

Phillis Engelbert is an Ann Arbor business owner (Detroit Street Filling Station, The Lunch Room, North Star Lounge) and a lifelong activist. In the 1980s, she earned her master's degree from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Michigan. She wrote her master's thesis on the dioxane plume that is contaminating Ann Arbor's groundwater to this day. We had the opportunity to interview Phillis and ask her about her experience publishing the thesis, her view on how citizens could get involved in activism, and so much more. Here is the transcription of the interview.
