Who We Are!

Anne Cao

Anne is a 2nd-year student in the School of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan. Passionate about the Huron River and the vibrancy of life it brings, she is intrigued by how both quantitative methods and lived narratives can bring folks together to drive meaningful change.

Cody Quiroz

Cody is a 4th-year student at the University of Michigan studying Earth & Environmental Sciences and Environmental Policy through the Program in the Environment. With a background in community organizing and water chemistry research, he is passionate about environmental justice and water quality.

Denise Leyton

Denise is a UX research and outreach librarian in the Operations division of the U-M Library. With an Environmental Studies degree from U-M, she sees community building and sharing knowledge as important to promoting a sustainable, inclusive future for all. She sees the Great Lakes and Michigan's waterways as the keystone for that future. 

Ariel Ojibway

Ariel is a staff member at the U-M Hatcher Library and, like the rest of Ann Arbor, dependent on the Huron River for life. She loves cooperatives, bringing together communities including plants, water & animals, and believes stories can lead our world back to the right path. Ariel is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe.
