About this book

Why did we make this book?

We embarked on assembling this resource to provide a flexible and free resource for the students at the University of Maryland, College Park. We teach open science and value the contributions of the community. We also others will find this resource useful as well. The making of this website and the accompanying R tutorial was generously funded by a grant from the University of Maryland to Drs. Tracy Tomlinson, Ben Jones and Brian Kim.

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

Thanks to the authors of the University of Maryland PSYC100: Introduction to Psychology Open Educational Resource (https://sites.google.com/view/openpsyc/home) whose earlier work inspired this site and provided a template.

We compiled this website from a variety of sources, but relied most heavily on lumen learning courses which we have edited and re-mixed substantially.

Homework Sets

We have created homework questions in Canvas for instructors who would like to use them in their class. These homework sets contain over 1,200 questions and have a homework set for each book chapter. They can be found in the Canvas Commons (link here) as well as in  a Canvas cartridge that you can access in this Google Drive here. The Canvas module offers an introduction to and help using these homework sets.
