Alex is the 2026 recipient of the Winston Langley Scholarship in International Relations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from Stonehill College. Her research interests explore the intersection of politics and technology, with a particular focus on disinformation and misinformation, artificial intelligence, modern conflict, and critical theory. Alex plans to pursue a PhD and build a career in academia. She is passionate about advancing scholarship in international relations through innovative research while inspiring and mentoring the next generation of critical thinkers and scholars.

Fabiola earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Diplomacy at the Centre D'Etudes Diplomatiques Et Internationales (CEDI). Her career goal is to build a meaningful career in diplomacy and international relations, contributing to stronger international partnerships and creating positive change in her community and beyond.

Sijan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in Chemistry, History, and Mathematics, from Goshen College. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations and hopes to build a career that allows him to continually learn, conduct research, and contribute to issues that align with his interests in academia, policy, and advocacy.

• Drivers of forced migration, including resource nationalism and armed conflict

• Long-term legacies of political violence on post-conflict politics

• The role of sports in international politics, particularly sportswashing

Elizabeth is pursuing both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through UMass Boston’s accelerated B.A./M.A. program. As an English major with minors in Philosophy of Law and French, her research interests lie at the intersection of comparative politics, democratic governance, constitutional law, and international relations. After completing the program, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career as a state court judge, while remaining engaged in research on democratic institutions, the rule of law, and efforts to promote a more accessible, transparent, and equitable legal system.

Margo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her career goals are to work with an international NGO, to teach politics internationally, and to run for local government with the possibility of governmental leadership later in life.

Luis Manuel Olivencia de las Moras received his Bachelor's degree at Universidad CEU San Pablo with a major in Law and International Relations. His career goal is to specialize in the field of International Relations, acquiring a global and multicultural focus in his education.

Wyatt Sage received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. He grew up splitting time between Louisiana and Dubai which has fueled his passion for researching the Middle East and North Africa region. He intends to get into electoral politics after earning his MA in International Relations.

Matteo Totime earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of Ghana, double majoring in French and Spanish. His career goal is to be a diplomat.

Nurtas Sheriyazdan received his Bachelor's degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan, double majoring in English and French. His long-term career goal is to work with the United Nations, where he can contribute to promoting peace and resolving international conflicts.
