Eligibility

What are the selection criteria?

1. Students who are Computer Science and Informatics majors in CICS. 

2. In their first year at CICS or an incoming transfer student at the time of application.

3. Not taken any CS 300 or above level courses before or during the application period.  

4. Meet minimum GPA standards to be selected. Usually the threshold is around a 3.0 (but it can vary from year to year).

Motivation/Dedication: 

You must express why you are interested in  exploring research in CICS and in this program in particular. 

Diversity: 

ERSP is designed to promote a diverse and supportive student research community within CICS. Students in ERSP must demonstrate an awareness of the specific challenges facing students and express how their participation will help support and increase success of students with different life experiences.

One goal of ERSP is to promote and increase diversity of minoritized, under-represented groups in the CICS community, using a broad definition that includes (but is not necessarily limited to) gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, socioeconomic status, ability, sexual orientation, and first-in-family to attend university. However, you do not have to yourself be from a particular group to apply or to participate.
