I am currently a senior lecturer (Professeur de l’Enseignement Supérieur) in the Department of English at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco. I earned a Doctorat d’Etat in linguistics in 2001 in Joint-Supervision with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. I have been a Fulbrighter twice (1999-2000 and 2005, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA). I am also expert-évaluateur with Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (CNRST)- Rabat. I am the winner of the 2014 IRCAM Award for Research and Scientific Thinking.
My interest is centered on phonology, morphology, the phonology-morphology/ morphology-syntax interfaces, as well as language contact, variation and change. My interests extend to applied sociolinguistics and university pedagogy, particularly the integration of ICT in teaching.
