Playing at events
The events calendar shows you all events run by UKU and others run by local organisers.
While many UKU outdoor events are run nationally, meaning teams travel from around the UK to attend, there may be some more regional events local to you either run by UKU or others. If you cannot find events near you, have you thought about running one yourself? UKU event sanctioning can provide help to do this safely. Events run by local clubs or people can provide more competitive opportunities, promote the sport to new players or build networks between teams and players in an area. The article above includes case studies and a step-by-step guide to help you run an event in your area.
Not all events have a standard tournament structure. You might want to run an event that looks a bit different, for example:
a Hat tournament where players sign up as individuals and are put into teams
a skills clinic where players have the opportunity to develop or learn new skills before playing games
an event for a specific age group
a small-sided tournament with teams of 4, 5 or 6 a-side
a regular league where you play one match each week for a number of weeks
a once a month multi-club training session where club leaders can share and learn from one another
