Las TIC en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la lengua francesa con fines específicos: Machinima (Second Life) y WebQuest.

(Mª Elena Baynat Monreal, Mercedes López Santiago y Mercedes Sanz Gil)

Abstract

The theme of this round table focuses on the possibilities offered by the Internet for language teaching/learning in professional and intercultural contexts.

Two didactic proposals for learning specialised French using digital tools (machinima and WebQuest) are presented, aimed at university students in the fields of business and tourism, among others. The participants in the round table will describe the creation process of the machinima "Entrevista de trabajo/Entretien d'embauche" (Mª Elena Baynat Monreal and Mercedes López Santiago) and the WebQuest "À la recherche du lexique de la gestión hôtelière/En busca del léxico de la gestión hôtelière" (Mercedes Sanz Gil and Mª Elena Baynat Monreal).

A machinima is a digital story created in virtual worlds, in this case in Second Life, which allows real-life situations to be simulated. In this didactic proposal, a job interview for a tourism company is recreated so that students acquire communicative and socio-cultural skills in a professional context. The WebQuest designed is intended to favour the learning of hotel management lexicon in French. This methodology of guided research on the web allows the acquisition of vocabulary in a real context of use through a simulation that invites the use of existing resources on the Internet (online dictionaries and accommodation websites). In both proposals, the simulation of real situations facilitates the learning of a foreign language from an intercultural perspective.

This round table will also serve to launch a debate on the use of ICT in the teaching-learning of languages and cultures.
