Sub-Investigator (use interchangeably with co-investigator or co-i) is a HASA staff member appointed by PI to be part of his/her team in conducting research in HASA.
The sub-i function as a point-of-contact person and must be relevant to the study discipline.
There is no coercion to take part of the research project as a sub-i.

Sub-I appointment is mandatory for all non-HASA PI. Exclusion applies (see FAQ 1).
[Important] PI is expected to reach out to the respective HOD to obtain provisional approval to conduct research or data collection prior to sending in the application to the P&I office.

Please reach out to the HOD together with the Sub-Investigator & HOD Approval Form. PI may need to bring the full set of documents as per checklist in case of request by the HOD.
PI also may suggest / nominate a sub-investigator for HOD consideration. However, the ultimate choice of sub-i and the preliminary approval lies with the HOD.
P&I will only process a complete application which includes a valid sub-i and HOD consent.
