Ethics

Ethics approval (or exemption) from UiTM is a mandatory requirement to conduct research in HASA.

Given that HASA does not have its own Independent Ethic Committee (IEC), applicants must apply for ethics through UiTM REC or faculties and then proceed to apply to HASA for conducting research in the hospital (getting your research registered).

The UiTM Research Ethics Committee (REC) is an IEC under the governance of UiTM Research and Innovation, where it reports to the University Research Committee (JKIPU) and to the UiTM Senate.

All UiTM faculties and branches also have their own Institutional Review Board (IRB) that provides ethical and regulatory oversight of research in their respective PTJs, albeit with slightly limited scope.
