INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICS
STA104 COURSE DESCRIPTION
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides students with a foundational knowledge of statistics and its applications across various fields, including social sciences, agriculture, and other industries. It emphasizes introductory methods in descriptive and inferential statistics. Specific topics include methods for describing data, time series analysis, correlation and regression, index numbers, and introduction to probability. Students will be exposed to data analysis and interpretation of statistical output to enhance their understanding.
COURSE OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
1) Explain the concept of descriptive statistics. (C2)
2) Interpret the appropriate statistical solution in a given problem. (C3)
3) Demonstrate leadership, autonomy and responsibility skills in handling group project. (A3)
