Dr. Zuraini Published a Paper!

Follow up from our workshop in Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management.

Dr. Zuraini Mat Issa recently got a paper titled AI Writing Utility, Ethical Concerns, Academic Self-Reliance, and Responsible AI Writing Practices among University Students: An Exploratory Psychometric Study accepted in the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS) (ERA indexed).

AI@UiTM Samarahan

This was the largest training campaign to date - 300 participants.

UiTM Sarawak just made academic history by dropping a massive, supercharged two-day AI workshop for 300 of its lecturers at Samarahan Campus 2! It was a high-energy masterclass in leveling up research writing using productive and ethical prompt engineering. The main takeaway? When you mix cutting-edge tech with ethical use, you get a powerhouse campus ready to dominate the global research stage!

SMRI: AI@CoE Series

SMRI and IBSD invited to give a talk. We discussed strategies for literature review at length. Dr. Fitrah (IoS Director) shared a new approach using Boolean searches to search papers for literature review. Read all about it here.

Zaki Completed His Dissertation

Ahmad Zaki Aiman, Dr. Azita Laily's PhD student completed his dissertation assisted by prompt engineering. Prompt engineering helps immensely with technical writing, but it always needs to be used ethically and with proper technique.

Adventures in Springer Nature Masterclass

Recently attended a Springer Nature Masterclass in UPM. Springer Nature is the publisher for the top-tier journal Nature. The speaker was Dr. Maybelline Yeo, who shared some insights on what Nature and other top-tier journals are looking for when evaluating papers.

Aznilinda Got Invited to UN to Give a Talk

My co-supervised PhD student, Aznilinda Zainuddin was invited by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs to give a talk on her space weather research. Aznilinda leveraged on AI to write an extensive PhD dissertation on her research. Congratulations Aznilinda, legendary work!

UTV Ready to Rock and Roll!

I was invited to UTV, UiTM to train its staff on how to use AI for everyday tasks such as data analysis, document, multimedia and presentation preparation. A lively and engaging crowd. Thank you Prof. Dr. Rozita for inviting me.

Was invited to give a half-day talk on to students of Kolej Melati, UiTM Shah Alam on writing academic papers from their college research projects. Had great fun.

MITRANS & IoS

First series of CoE reachout initiative. We were graced by the presence of our legendary TNC, Prof. Azah. Started new materials here: Google Colab for Data Analysis to help lecturers with no programming background to analyze data using AI.

Dr. Saiful Visited

Dr. Saiful and his student, Alin, visited to collaborate on research for dry eye detection using AI. Great initiative for cross-collaborative interdisciplinary research. InsyaAllah future prolific writers in the making!

FKE Recharged

Recently got invited by FKE to give two talks. 1) Thesis writing bootcamp (16th May 2026), and 2) Research writing workshop based on academic data (new series, 20th May 2026).

En Hisham Presented a Paper

En. Hisham, our councillor with Unit Kaunseling dan Psikologi UiTM, UiTM Asasi, recently presented a paper based on their DASS psychological evaluation of students. We are working on MindAtlas, towards a centralized system for mental health monitoring and intervention for UiTM staff and students. Register for your free psychological and career profile.

Hani & Faizah (APB, Dengkil)

Hani and Faizah leveraged AI to prepare and analyze questionnaires given out to their students. They then embarked on a writing spree (4 papers within 2 months, several of which have won best paper awards and has been accepted in journals with no corrections. Hani is studying PhD in New Zealand now.

Faculty of Built Environment

Longest workshop to date (3 days), with excellent participation and support from everyone. Interestingly, research in FBE is a mix of S&T and A&D, the best of both worlds.

Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS)

Invited by ACIS to conduct a 1-day talk on AI-assisted research writing. Gained new friends and discovered new research opportunities.

Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM

Invited by Prof. Bakar to give a talk in the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Puncak Alam. Many future prolific writers here!

UiTM Dungun

One of our major campaigns on the eastern front. Organized by ReNEU, UiTM. Attended by several eastern region campuses: Terengganu, Pahang & Kelantan.

Jabatan Penyelidikan & Inovasi

Dr. Mohd Rafizi Rahmad pioneered integration AI in Human Resource, resulting in two online systems: Profiler and Bossku. Presented several research papers on HR assisted by AI, resulting in Best Paper Award at a ViCQHE 2025. Several training are in the pipeline in 2026 to boost AI literacy and skills among JPI staff.

Chemical Engineering

Enganged with our fellow engineers from our sister faculty, Faculty of Chemical Engineering. Made a lot of new friends!

Electrical Engineering

Invited by our faculty to give talk on productive and ethical prompt engineering + structured thesis writing. This is our second talk in FKE.

Sg Harmoni

Sg Harmoni is one of the leading water treatment companies in Selangor. We visited to give training for AI literacy and effective prompt engineering as part of Sg Harmoni's MoU with Microwave Research Institute (MRI, UiTM). They loved the AI-assisted analysis for professional, high quality management reports.

Civil Engineering

Visited our sister faculty, Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM, to share techniques for effective and ethical prompt engineering for AI-assisted research. Happy to meet new friends.

Kampus Bandaraya Melaka

Kampus Bandaraya Melaka uncovered many talents from the Social Science & Humanities areas. Excellent participation. Was a fun experience.

Agrotech Jasin, UiTM

Invited by Agrotech UiTM Jasin to conduct a 1-day talk on AI-assisted research writing. Lots of interest and effort from all participants. Congratulations!

KyuTech, Japan

Invited by Kyushu Institute of Technology (KyuTech) to give a talk on how to write research papers assisted by AI. KyuTech houses one of the most advanced satellite labs in Asia. Center for Nanosatellite Testing (CeNT)

Asasi UiTM, Dengkil

Two deployments to UiTM Dengkil, great enthusiasm from everyone. We conducted parallel teaching for two rooms simultaneously.

Invited to give a talk by the Microwave Research Institute on productive and ethical prompt engineering. Had a great time!

Power Electronics Research Group, FKE, UiTM

The Power Electronics Research Group (PERG) is led by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Rahimi Baharom. One of the earliest in this series. Conducted in ILD, UiTM.
