Mr. Dinkins comes to Alexander High School from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education as well as a Trumpet Performance Certificate.

During his time at the University of South Carolina, Mr. Dinkins was involved in various ensembles such as the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and Left Bank Big Band. He also served as the Trumpet Section Leader for The Mighty Sound of the Southeast, The Carolina Band, in 2021. 

As an active performer, Mr. Dinkins has performed with various professional ensembles across the state of South Carolina including the Florence Masterworks Choir, Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra, and has been a featured soloist with the South Carolina Brass Band. Mr. Dinkins also comes with a wealth of performance experience playing on some of the biggest stages in music such as the CBDNA National Conference, Joye in Aiken Festival, Bands of America Grand Nationals, and the Music for All National Festival.  

Mr. Dinkins holds professional affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association, South Carolina Music Educators Association, South Carolina Band Directors Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
