Instructional Design Experience
CoPILOT (Cohort Program for Innovation and Leadership in Online Teaching) Program.
The CoPILOT Program is a Purdue fully-funded program that supports instructors in designing and developing high-quality online courses. During the Summer 2026 cohort, I served as an instructional design intern and collaborated with the lead instructional designer, faculty subject matter expert, and video producer to develop the online course Applied Informatics and Emerging Technology in Healthcare.
Through this program, I applied instructional design principles, project management skills, and collaborative course development practices to support the design of engaging and effective online learning experiences.
My responsibilities include:
Conducting needs analysis activities with the lead instructional designer to identify the course goals, students’ needs, and instructional requirements.
Developing instructional resources, including rubrics, project templates, and course activities.
Developing Brightspace development shells and uploading ready-to-publish course materials, assessment, and learning activities.
Reviewing and providing feedback on course planning documents, such as learning outcomes, learning objectives, module overviews, and course schedules to ensure alignment and consistency.
Collaborating regularly with the faculty, instructional designer, and video producer to monitor course development progress.
Facilitating and co-facilitating group cohort meetings with two additional faculty and their course design team.
Using a rubric based on Quality Matters criteria to conduct course reviews of completed courses developed in Brightspace, evaluating for course design, alignment, navigation, accessibility, and learner engagement.
