Research Interest
Research Interest
My primary research interest is in instructional technology and professional development for educators to improve educational outcomes, particularly in the madrassah and pesantren systems and in under-developed and -resourced settings. My proposed study is to pursue a doctoral degree in education with a specialization in instructional technology to understand how to enhance the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) capacity of future prospective teachers and to apply instructional design and technology in the Indonesian context across various learning modality.
Research Diagram*
*As illustrated in the diagram and accompanying artifacts, my research agenda consists of two interconnected strands. The first focuses on technology-enhanced learning and instructional design, including learning analytics and online learning frameworks such as the Community of Inquiry. The second focuses on teacher education for both pre-service and in-service teachers. These strands are closely related (as indicated by the bidirectional arrows): effective integration of instructional technology requires teachers with strong pedagogical and technological competencies, while teacher education benefits from insights derived from learning analytics and instructional design to improve teaching practices. These strands intersect in my research, which examines how instructional technology can enhance teachers’ Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) across various learning modalities.
