Basori is a lecturer and teacher trainer in the Tadris Bahasa Inggris English Education Program at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim in Malang, East Java. He earned his Bachelor's degree in English Education from Universitas Negeri Malang in 2011 and completed his Master's degree in instructional technology from Northern Illinois University in 2016. He is currently pursuing his doctoral in Purdue University taking Learning Design and Technology Program.
His primary research interest is in instructional technology and professional development for educators to improve educational outcomes in the madrassah and pesantren systems and in under-developed and -resourced settings. His proposed study is to pursue a doctoral degree in education with a specialization in instructional technology in order to understand how to enhance the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) capacity of future prospective teachers and to apply instructional design and technology, using the Community of Inquiry model, in the Indonesian context.
