Clarke Central High School vs. Winder-Barrow High School Football Pre-game Sideline Reporting assignment for my Topics in Sports Media class at the University of Georgia. Through this experience, I learned how to report from the sidelines in real time during a competitive local football game practice. I practiced gathering information quickly for the unpredictable nature of live sports coverage. This assignment strengthened my ability to think on my feet and communicate clearly under pressure, key skills for any aspiring sports reporter.
This was my Anchor On-Air Performance exercise for my Topics in Sports Media class. Through this project, I gained hands-on experience writing clear, concise scripts tailored for television. I also worked on developing my on-camera presence, while learning how to deliver information confidently, maintain viewer engagement, and adapt to the pacing required in a live broadcast environment. Overall, this assignment helped me build foundational skills that I can carry into future reporting and on-air opportunities.
