I discovered my passion for storytelling early, working behind and in front of the camera in my high school’s audio-visual program. From anchoring broadcasts to helping edit video packages, I learned how to build a narrative that connected with an audience. In college, I sharpened those skills through coursework like Intro to Sports Media, Reporting 1 and 2, and Credibility, News Media and Public Trust. Each class emphasized deadlines, accuracy, and adaptability. These skills I will carry into real-world experience.
At the University of Georgia, I expanded my media experience by creating content for Instagram. I developed posts that engaged a community of college students, learning how to write captions and design graphics that captured attention quickly and authentically. Managing my own page taught me how to balance creativity with consistency, This experience also strengthened my communication skills beyond the classroom. I regularly read news sources like The Red and Black to stay informed about campus and local events, and I analyze how their stories are structured to help me understand what makes content compelling.
Today, I continue to combine journalistic principles with creative media work. My past experiences have taught me how to craft messages that not only inform but resonate. I look forward to expanding my storytelling abilities in new ways.
