Mobile Interior and Landing Page
Rationale
I believe there are several key areas that need improvement in the Masters website—starting with the landing page. Rather than showcasing the history and prestige of the tournament, it simply highlights the previous year’s winner. To better capture the legacy of the Masters, I redesigned the landing page to feature a “glory video” with minimal text overlay, composed of historical highlights edited to evoke a sense of calm and prestige. I kept the typography clean and classic, using a serif font, and preserved the original Masters logo. I also streamlined the news section, reducing it from ten articles to four key stories that update based on importance. To enhance interactivity, I added a live video and scoreboard with clickable features allowing users to view hole-by-hole stats and detailed player profiles.
For the mobile version, I preserved the core features but resized and restructured elements for a more compact experience. The opening video is reformatted in portrait mode, and content sections are limited to one or two items to reduce clutter. On the interior page, I used the 2025 Invitees list as the basis for my redesign. While the original design was functional, I added a slideshow of past champions at the top and a section titled “Who Will Wear the Green Jacket Now?” highlighting top contenders. The invitee directory includes a search bar and quick-sort options by last name. On mobile, this page is trimmed down to feature only the previous winner’s bio and a searchable directory. As we’ve learned in class, users tend to skim content, so my focus was on delivering only what’s essential to avoid overwhelming visitors.
