Currently, the only avenue for students at UF to learn about the topic of IRB is through online training through the mytraining system or through in-person presentations given by the IRB office.
IRB Please
One game was found, IRB Please, developed by the University of California San Diego, which targets PIs and addresses common mistakes that happen in filling out IRB Paperwork. This game is approximately 30 minutes long, can be completed multiple times, and is made from the perspective of an IRB analyst (ACTRI, Accessed 2022).
There are no current and relevant apps for IRB training on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store relating to IRB training. However, several apps will inspire the design of the mobile app solution.
Is It Research
This app was designed to guide you through the Federal Common Rule, a set of guidelines that most IRBs follow, by answering a series of yes or no questions. The answers you provide help determine if your idea needs IRB approval. The app was developed for students, residents, faculty, mid-levels, nurses and any other provider who performs research. This app has been discontinued and is no longer available. Image Credit: https://www.imedicalapps.com/2015/09/irb-app-irb-approval/
