I enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with Adobe Animate. This assignment was the first I had experienced interacting with Adobe Animate. I have personally only used Adobe Acrobat, where I view, edit, and share PDF files. Adobe Animate is a handy tool that educators can use to incorporate interactive elements into their classes. Also, it is an excellent way for students to gain experience using Adobe Animate and other applications. Ultimately, this would allow students the opportunity to complete their assignments in a non-traditional fashion. However, I would have students utilize Adobe Animate in groups until they become familiar with the software.
I created an animation on the cardinal direction of the sun setting and rising every day. This lesson is suitable for all ages as I consistently forget which way I should be looking for a sunset or sunrise. I utilized the oval and rectangular tools to create the girl pictured in the animation. I then uploaded a picture of the sun and fixed it on the motion guide path I made. Ultimately, this allowed me to model how the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. The major downside of this tool is the need for a vast amount of training on how to do things. Adobe Animate has many tools and steps required to create a functioning animation. That said, making a minor error resulting in a non-functional animation is possible. Lastly, Adobe Animate failed to open several times on my MacBook, so I am unsure if I would recommend it to Mac users.
