From the class, we understood that a descriptive essay is intended to create a clear and vivid image in the reader's mind through detailed and sensory writing. We learned that it's not just about telling, but about showing, using words that appeal to the senses and emotions. We realized the importance of having a clear thesis and supporting it with specific details and examples. In general, the class helped us improve the ability to express thoughts in a more creative and descriptive way. Also a cause and effect essay helps understand how certain events, actions, or situations can lead to specific outcomes or consequences. By analyzing the relationship between cause and effect, it seeks to understand not only what happened but also how a single cause can lead to multiple effects, or how several causes can contribute to one effect. This type of essay is useful for exploring complex dynamics, such as the factors influencing a social, economic, or historical issue, and clearly demonstrates how prior actions or decisions have a direct impact on the present or future.
What wasn't understood from the class?
What was not fully understood in class was how to make the proper transition between paragraphs in a descriptive essay without making the writing feel repetitive or disconnected. Sometimes it was also not clear how much detail is too much, and how to keep the description attractive without overloading the reader. On the other hand, in a cause and effect essay, some aspects may be difficult to fully understand, such as the complex or indirect relationship between causes and effects, where multiple smaller causes contribute to one large effect or where the effect is not immediately apparent. It can also be challenging to grasp the multiple causes leading to a single effect or how external factors, such as historical, cultural, or social contexts, influence the cause and effect relationship. Additionally, some causes may not be immediately visible, and the long-term or indirect consequences may be hard to recognize, making it difficult to fully comprehend the dynamics without a more detailed analysis.

“Life is a journey, not a destination.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson. This powerful quote reminds us that personal growth is a continuous process shaped by our experiences. Graduating from high school was one of the most defining moments of my life, marking the beginning of that journey. At the time, I had many expectations but very little clarity about who I really was or what I wanted. Change did not come immediately, but slowly, through the challenges and lessons I encountered. Therefore, detailing the characteristics of the person I was when I graduated from high school and the person I am now is the purpose of this written piece.
When I graduated from high school, I was an insecure and indecisive person, still trying to discover who I truly was. I often doubted my decisions and constantly looked for approval from friends or family. It was difficult for me to express my own opinions or stand firm in my beliefs. I lacked the confidence to take risks or step out of my comfort zone. At that stage, I was more concerned about how others perceived me than about understanding my own values. I was, essentially, someone who followed rather than led.
One year later, college life began to change my perspective and helped shape my identity. Facing challenges on my own taught me to be more independent and trust my own judgment. I learned how to manage my time, make decisions without external validation, and solve problems with the resources I had. Through different courses and group projects, I discovered strengths I didn’t know I had. I also began to explore my interests more freely and stopped worrying so much about meeting others’ expectations. This period of adjustment was not easy, but it played a critical role in my development.
Today, I have grown into a more confident, focused, and mature individual. I set clear goals for myself and take the initiative in both my academic and personal life. I have learned to value authenticity over popularity, and I make decisions based on what aligns with my values. While I still face doubts and challenges, I no longer fear failure as I once did. Instead, I see it as part of the learning process. Most importantly, I now believe in myself and the direction my life is taking.
In conclusion, my personal evolution from a hesitant high school graduate to a college student shows how time and experience can transform us. Growth does not occur overnight, but with each challenge faced and lesson learned, we become stronger and more aware of ourselves. My trip has taught me that identity is not fixed, it is built with effort and intention. For those who feel lost after graduation, I encourage patience and self-reflection. You will change in ways you can't imagine yet. The most important part is to keep moving forward and trusting that you are becoming the person you are destined to be.

This quote reflects the entrepreneurial spirit that has driven many Chinese citizens to seek opportunities abroad. In recent years, our country has witnessed a significant increase in the presence of Chinese-owned businesses and communities. This phenomenon, often referred to as the “Chinese invasion,” has sparked curiosity and concern among locals. While some perceive it as a threat, others recognize its potential economic benefits. The purpose of this essay is to detail the causes and effects of the current Chinese “invasion” in our country.
One of the primary causes of the Chinese presence in our country is the pursuit of economic opportunities. China has a long-standing tradition of international entrepreneurship, and many Chinese business owners see our open markets as fertile ground. The relatively low cost of setting up businesses here, along with lenient government regulations, has attracted foreign investors. Additionally, there is a growing demand for affordable goods, which Chinese suppliers are well positioned to meet. The infrastructure improvements and commercial areas in urban regions have further supported their expansion. As a result, Chinese-owned shops and restaurants have rapidly multiplied in various parts of the country.
The social impact of this migration is complex and multifaceted. On one hand, the presence of Chinese culture has enriched the diversity of local communities through cuisine, language, and customs. This cultural exchange can be seen as an opportunity for mutual learning and integration. However, some local residents feel uncomfortable or excluded due to language barriers and unfamiliar social norms.
