Culture & Experience
Australia’s vibrant culture is reflected in the kindness and welcoming nature of its people. Everywhere we went, locals were friendly and eager to share their way of life, making our experience even more enjoyable. We also had the opportunity to learn about the country’s rich history, including the deep and enduring traditions of Aboriginal culture. Their incredible art, with its intricate dot paintings and storytelling through symbols, was truly fascinating and offered a glimpse into the spiritual connection they have with the land. Compared to the U.S., there were quite a few cultural differences that stood out—cars driving on the opposite side of the road, the way Aussies shorten and abbreviate their words, and their overall laid-back approach to life. One of the most surprising things for us was how clean and safe Sydney felt. Public transportation was incredibly easy to navigate, and we were shocked by how comfortable we felt exploring the city, something that isn’t always the case in major U.S. cities. The combination of rich history, welcoming locals, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere made Australia an unforgettable place to visit.
