Isolation

Window Slightly Opened

Window slightly opened

Rain gently falling

Darkness fully surrounding

Time quickly passing

I’m softly typing

Mind swiftly racing

Rain still falling

Thus creating music to my ears.

Droplets differently descending

Landing in many places

Which all have a purpose

A purpose unknown...

The storm is quite soothing

Seconds rapidly keep ticking

While my love for nature truly grows

God really blessed us, so cherish it all.

Back Bay to Brookline

I’ve never seen so many colors

making an indigo skylight

Crowds of people

Flakes of snow

A crisp breeze flows throughout the night

and though it’s frigid

I am not cold.

The faces of these walkers are cold

Reflecting multicultural colors

These faces illuminate the night

Going down the stairs to the T, I confront the light

My shoes glimmering with snow

I glance back & forth at the people,

The T stuffed with people

in which I no longer acknowledge the cold

Outside the window, small mountains of snow

Inside, the warmth of others, the T full of color

The small toddler in front of me, bouncy full of light

The T stops, I walk off into the night

Flashing lights sweep me into the night

I walk swiftly among the people

Under my feet feels light

Rushing again, I still don’t feel the cold

Ignoring the weather, I only see colors

Fluorescent pinks & blues of store lights reflect themselves on the snow.

I particularly don’t like the snow

Especially in the freezing of night

The only product of warmth here are the colors

Blues, greens, oranges reflecting on the coats of the people

Almost to my destination, my body generates heat deflecting the cold

I walk to the door to buzz the small light,

The door opens & my heart becomes light

My coat comes off, behind me melts the snow

Cheerful, no longer cold

Inside, no residue left from this frosty night

Up two flights of stairs to see my people

Balloons, cupcakes & streamers dance around the room with colors.
