What is Structural Health Monitoring?
Structural health monitoring is the practice of utilizing physical, visual, and virtual methods of analysis to determine the forces exerted structure and predict resulting stresses it will experience over the life span of the structure.
There are many different types of sensors offered for structures to monitor many different stresses and strains.
THE DEMAND – In order to identify structural defects or critical conditions in aging industrial assets and new constructions the demand for SHM rises.
THE CAUSE – Corrosion of our structures overtime from, steel, to concrete, and asphalt.
THE LIFETIME OPTIMIZATION – SHM systems can offer optimized operational and possible lifetime extension of any structure. This valuable tool for clients helps to manage and mitigate financial, environmental and human risks.
THE REALIZATION – You can monitor critical “hot spots” and equip them with appropriate sensors for monitoring and analyzing activities inside the structure.
