Automatic Light Sensor [12]
Automatic light sensors acts as motion detectors. They use infrared waves to sense whether a person has entered a room or not. Once the motion detector is triggered by motion, the lights turn on. The lights then turn off when motion is no long detected, ideally when people have left the room.
Lights on an automatic sensor saves up to 70% of energy used to light some areas than a light that is constantly on [15]
Between class times in empty rooms lights will automatically shut off
On nights, weekends, and holidays you don’t have to worry about students and faculty turning lights off to conserve energy

Installation
Light sensors are very easy to install in any typical light switch and do not need an advanced electrician. Amazon even sells some that are similar to ones in commercial business buildings for around $13 so this makes it affordable to put them in nearly any room.
Where will it be Beneficial
Morris Library at UD [8]
These sensors would be effective anywhere where there is less movement and in dorm hallways, classrooms, offices and many other areas around UD that have occupants going in and out except for on weekends and holidays. Even some parts of the library that are not main study areas and have low traffic could benefit from this.
