The Udacity Community is a network of students and alumni from around the world that you will have access to as a Udacity student. Our hope is that the Udacity community becomes a source of growth, encouragement, and joy for every student throughout every stage of their learning journey, starting from the day they first enter the Nanodegree classroom to graduation and beyond. Many of our most successful alums say that the Udacity community is a big part of what made their experience valuable and enjoyable--they often learned as much from their classmates as they did in the classroom!
You will be communicating with your classmates, Mentors and Udacity staff in Slack. By posting in Slack, you will be connected to other students around the world - 180 countries and counting! You are contributing to the creation of a culture that celebrates collaborative, lifelong learning and mutual support. We hope you use Slack to freely ask and answer questions; to share advice, adversity, and accomplishments, and to feel connected and at home during your time here.
"To this day, I am convinced that Udacity’s power lies within its people. As a Nanodegree student, I was so incredibly thankful to have a community of like-minded people with whom I could ask questions, share resources, laugh, discuss job opportunities, and yes, even have late-night study sessions where there were plenty of code revisions and nerves at play."
“I've taken Courses on EdX before, and the main difference was the existence of a real online and offline community here at Udacity. I think you played a very significant role in establishing this experience!” - Bertelsmann Scholar
"To me, what clicked, is the diverse background of people in the community and encouragement to “not step away and let the experienced talk” but rather the narrative that anyone can and should contribute to the community life and anyone has something valuable to say - almost everyone was transmitting this message and supporting those who was speaking with."
"This is slightly *difficult* for me to tell about my feelings for this community in a precise and a brief manner. But even then , I would say this is a awesome community i have ever met. I got very good friends, very good experts and a very good advisers here. They not just helped me in technical questions related to course but also helped me a lot in solving my general queries. At first, I want to say that earlier i was quiet introvert type but then , after meeting these community members now i know what a true sportsmanship means and what a group work means." - PyTorch Scholar
"This program was special for me because it was the first time that I was part of a community like this one. It was so great to see so many like-minded people together in one place, discussing their heart out.
The most amazing thing that I find about this community is how there was always someone available to help a fellow student no matter what the query was. It was really remarkable. There was no discrimination made whatsoever. As per my knowledge there are not many women involved in the technical work area and hence people generally think that women are less smart than men. But seeing this kind of community has made me believe that there are people who don't discriminate among men and women.
This kind of program really helps to bring the world closer and make it a better place. "
"The Community Managers made the experience an awesome one that I will cherish as will many others that, during the year, made Slack - our homes away from home in our path to our Nanodegrees." - Grow with Google Scholar
