The wired connection from the battery interrupter to the adaptive switch is accomplished by the mono jack connectors, for the ease of adaptation and the consideration of manufacturing cost. There are two parts to a pair of mono jack connectors, where the male jack is plugged into the female jack, and establishes the secure connection without exposing wires or additional steps to the process.
The two poles of the wire of the male mono jack connector are individually soldered onto the two prongs of the latching button. The latching button has an internal mechanism that allows for the circuit that it is a part of to exhibit two stable states, which in this case, means ON and OFF. With one press of the button, the current flows through the circuit and can keep the toy activated and running until the next press of the button. The latching button is placed in a secure holder within the base of the adaptive switch.
