The overall design of a pancake switch was chosen due to it's simplicity and minimal movement required for interaction.
The Adaptive Switch is composed of a button, side piece and a base
Button
Larger diameter of 80 mm to allow for easier use by children with disabilities
Side Piece
Has cylindrical guides on the insides to limit rotation movement of button and snap joints to allow connection with base
Base
Has snap joints for connection with side piece and holder for latch button
