The battery interrupter, as indicated by its name, interrupts the power flow from the battery to the toy, redirects it to the adaptive switch, and creates a circuit where the adaptive switch is in series with the toy. In essence, the battery interrupter allows for a non-invasive connection of the internal circuitry of the toy to the adaptive switch and lowers the requirement of relevant engineering expertise for individuals interested in adapting the toys.
The mechanism of the battery interrupter relies on a PCB copper clad and wires from the mono jack connectors. A PCB copper clad is composed of one layer of Pre-preg, an insulated material, embedded between two layers of copper foil, which act as conductors that direct the current. To insert the battery interrupter into the toy, simple open the battery compartment, take out one of the batteries, place the copper clad next to the negative pole of the compartment, and insert the battery back into the space.
