Visualization of Chemistry Summer School
Calling all aspiring chemists and science enthusiasts! We are excited to announce the launch of the "Visualization of Chemistry" Summer School held by the "SMALL" team, where we will dive into the captivating world of chemistry through the lens of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). This unique opportunity is open to both undergraduate and pre-college students who have a passion for chemistry and a curiosity to explore the fundamental reactions that shape our world.
During this immersive program, participants will get hands-on experience with the cutting-edge technology of scanning tunneling microscopy. This powerful instrument allows us to visualize the atomic and molecular world, offering an unprecedented level of detail and insight into the building blocks of matter. By observing basic chemical reactions at the atomic level, you will gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles that govern the field of chemistry.
Program Highlights:
Introduction to Scanning Tunneling Microscopy: Learn the principles and techniques of STM and understand its significance in chemical research.
Atomic and Molecular Visualization: Witness the magic of chemistry unfold as you observe basic reactions and interactions at the atomic scale.
Lab Experiments: Engage in hands-on experiments using the STM and analyze the obtained data to unravel the secrets of chemical reactions.
Lectures and Workshops: Attend insightful lectures and workshops by esteemed scientists, who will guide you through the intricacies of chemical phenomena.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow students, researchers, and professionals in the field of chemistry, fostering collaborations and friendships.
Research Outreach: Opportunities to introduce cutting-edge chemical research to the public through social media.
Selected participants will receive a $1000 Summer Research Fellowship.
