SMALL RESEARCH MAKES BIG DIFFERENCES
Welcome to explore "SMALL": Spectroscopy and Microscopy at Atomic Level Laboratory. We combine femtosecond laser and scanning tunneling microscope to study the quantum phenomena which occurs at nearly the smallest length scale and the fastest time scale.
04/30/2026. Our new paper, "Engineering Structural Transitions in a Multi-Level Molecular Switch via Intermolecular Coupling" is published online in the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
04/29/2026. Kangkai Liang has been recognized as the third-place finalist for the 2026 Abe Hurlich Scholarship.
04/24/2026. Liya Bi received the Outstanding Researcher Award in Materials Science and Engineering.
