About the Project
Our sponsor, Greg Gradwell, wants to create a concept called DRIVR, which is a futuristic experience that combines driving virtually and in real life. The player sits in a physical go-kart wearing a Virtual Reality (VR) headset and drives in the real world. This is a drive-by-wire vehicle which means that inputs from the go-kart such as steering and throttle will be read through an Arduino and converted into actual outputs via the go-kart. The actions of the player will be the same in real life and the virtual reality environment. The project consists of constructing the next iteration vehicle for DRIVR to simulate an interactive environment for the user to experience.
What we need to accomplish
Functional Requirements:
The go-kart should accommodate 2 adults around 5’8”
Be fully electric and have a maximum speed of 12 mph
Drive-by-steering system and a reverse function
Both manual and remote shutoffs should be integrated into the go-kart
Automatically shuts down when surpassing the predefined boundary
A cage around the go-kart for protection and allocated mounting for electronics
Suspension or vibration dampening for comfort and electronic protection/calibration

What have we done:
