What is Data Science Discovery Boot Camp?
Data Science Discovery Boot Camp is a day camp designed to expose high schoolers to the field of data science. In this week long program, students will be introduced to programming and data science with hands-on activities that work towards making the topic more approachable and understandable for students with little to no coding experiene.
Data Science Discovery Boot Camp will be held at UCSD campus from July 10th to 14th.
The boot camp will be in person at UCSD.
Laptops, other materials, and lunch will be provided.
No, the program is open to all high schoolers interested in the STEM field.

Applications will be due March 31st. Students should expect a response to their applications starting April 15th.
Application will required emails from two teachers and we will reach out for a letter of recommendations. Once your application is received, we will contact teachers through the provided emails for letters.
We are accepting 15 student to participate in the program.
For any given day, we will be discussing broad data science topics and working on some introductory python coding.

Expected Timeline (subject to change):
9:00am - 9:15am -- Arrival / Drop - off
9:15 am-11:30am -- Lecture & Activities
11:30am - 12:30pm -- Lunch
12:30pm - 3:30pm -- Lecture & Activities Continued
3:30pm - 4:45pm -- College Readiness Presentation
4:45pm - 5pm -- Departure / Pick -up
We require all students be present for all days of the boot camp. We want to make sure all participants are fully engaged with the material and have enough time to learn the content and participate in the activities.
Tuition for the boot camp is $50 for the entire program. Tuition will be due two weeks once acceptance are sent out.
Boot camp staff includes instructors from Diversity in Data Science at UCSD and other data science undergrads from UCSD.
