The Data Science Discovery Bootcamp is a pilot program launched by the student organization Diversity in Data Science at UCSD, with the support of the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI) and the San Diego Super Computer Center (SDSC).
Diversity in Data Science at UC San Diego
As a student organization, Diversity in Data Science is committed to fostering opportunities in the data science field and ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds have access to resources and support to pursue their passions and careers in STEM. We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive environment, where everyone has the chance to learn, grow, and succeed in STEM-related fields.
Undergraduate students in the Data Science major at UC San Diego, and primarily those in the Diversity in Data Science student organization will be leading all lectures and exercises.
Jessica Guzman is the current President of Diversity in Data Science and a founding member of the student organization. She is a fourth year student majoring in Data Science and Applied Mathematics. Jessica is also a first generation student and a San Diego native.
Maricela Vasquez is one of the co-vice president of Diversity in Data Science at UCSD and a founding member. She is a fifth year majoring in Data Science with a Business minor.
Emma Leung is a first year student majoring in Data Science at UCSD. Emma is also an international student from Taiwan.
