Solution
Optimized stent design
Greater Flexibility from Reduced Thickness
We changed the thickness of rabbit stent from 1mm → 0.6mm, and finalized the thickness of baby stent to 0.5mm. The modification in stent parameter allows stents to fit better with the complex tracheal shape and also leaves more space in the airway for baby to breath.
Higher Consistency by changing from Straight seam → Puzzle seam
This design change removes the extra straight filament that is cutting the two-diamond structure. The symmetry of stent is restored, allowing stress distribution and PBS degradation occurring uniformly around the cylinder
