Biodegradation
Increase the time period of degradation testing to go further than the 10 weeks that were done. The goal would be to get a more accurate degradation profile of PCL stents and observe degradation at a 6-12 month time period.
Alternative Printing Method
Investigate alternative printing methods for stents in order to eliminate the welded seam and increase the uniformity of mechanical properties. Eliminating the welded seam would also reduce the chances of granulation of scar tissue in the trachea.
In Vivo Rabbit Testing
Given the promising results of our study, the next step would be to begin in vivo testing of the stents in rabbits to understand how the PCL stents and deployment device performs under physiological conditions
